Community Care

Community Care provides a range of services for Shire residents aged 65 years and older or 50 years and older for Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islanders, so they can continue to live as independently as possible in their own homes.

It is the individuals choice which services they wish to take up, with the variety of support services offered including; meal services, community transport both locally and regionally, socialisation, home visits, phone checks, outings, equipment hire and referrals for Vital Call services.

There is no requirement for an ACAT assessment to be done for community care services, clients can utilise the service through My Aged Care.
